What is a Rental Inspection Service?

Rental Inspect

What is a rental inspection service? Everything you need to know.

Whether you’re moving down the road or moving half-way across the world, finding the right property can be time consuming and stressful.

Adding to the stress is that in cities like Melbourne, real estate agents won’t lease a property to you unless you or someone representing you has inspected the property. This is to make sure that you like the actual property and agree to the condition of the property when inspecting it.

If you’re moving from interstate or overseas, then making the rental open for inspections is obviously impossible and if you don’t have friends or family available to give up their Saturdays to inspect properties on your behalf, then it’s impossible to get approved for a rental property.

This is a where a Rental Inspection Service becomes very useful.

You still search the internet for the properties you like, in the suburbs that interest you and once you register for an open for inspection, you engage a company like Rental Inspect (www.rentalinspect.com.au) to attend the inspections on your behalf.

How it works:

  1. Register for an Inspection – Find the property you’re interested in viewing using real estate portals like www.realestate.com.au or www.domain.com.au. Or email through a list of properties to the Renal Inspection company and they’ll coordinate with the agents directly.
  2. Attending the inspection – Your Rental Inspect team member will coordinate a time to view the property – either through a publicly advertised inspection time or negotiate with the Property Manager to view the property privately.
  3. Inspecting the property – Our inspection service includes a report of the property. We’ll take notes, photos and videos of the property and can also ask any questions you have. The report will be sent to you after the inspection so you can decide if you want to apply for the property. You’ll also receive a copy of any application forms or links and codes to apply for the property online.

Once we’ve inspected the property, the rest is up to you.
